Columbine’s PTA works hard to support our Cougar community!

The Columbine Cougars PTA (Parent Teacher Association) has been supporting our neighborhood and school since 1946. We’re a non-profit, 501c3 tax-exempt organization, consisting of families, teachers, and community members dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of all children.

Our Mission Create a special place where everyone feels welcome and included. We strive to ensure all students feel happy, supported, and loved at our school. Together, we will build a strong, connected community where every member belongs and thrives.

Why Join PTA? Joining our team provides a place to build strong community networks and support Columbine students, teachers, staff, and the wider community. Promote and support family involvement by becoming an advocate for our children and their education. Plus, there’s no requirement for attending meetings or volunteering! We welcome all new perspectives, whether you’re new to Columbine through relocation or ECE.

What does the PTA do? The PTA accomplishes so much! We provide resources and funding to support classroom EL modules, sponsor and support school community events like Fall Festival, Popcorn Fridays, Coats and Cocoa, and the LEAP Store, along with helping facilitate community growth and relationship building.

The PTA brings invaluable enrichment to the Columbine community, effectively complementing the school’s efforts. Through volunteer work, we donated over 300 winter coats to community families, cleaned up the school grounds (DOCs), and much much more! Additionally, the PTA community has funded a school-wide art program, provided every student a hand-selected book over winter break and continued to provided field experiences to our students, including visiting pollinator farms, museums and partnering with field experts.

Columbine Cougars PTA Teams:

Dads of Columbine (DOCs): Promotes active involvement of male caregivers in children’s education and well-being through volunteer work and engagement activities.
EL (Expeditionary Learning) Team: Supports students’ learning experiences by coordinating resources such as field experiences and expert visits to enhance knowledge, character, and quality of work for each EL module and supports Better World Day experiences.
Outreach and Inclusion: Facilitates engagement and connection within the diverse Columbine community through events and relationship-building efforts.
Finance & Fundraising Team: Plans and executes various fundraising activities to generate additional funds for the CC PTA and Columbine through collaborations with local businesses and corporate partnerships.
Enrichment & School Support: Dedicated to identifying and supporting before and after school enrichment programs. This committee also facilitates volunteer activities within the school, enhancing the educational experience and fostering a supportive community environment.
