Hello Columbine Community,
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We are all looking forward to welcoming in the beautiful spring weather🌷! We have many exciting upcoming events for our students and for our community. Please mark your calendar and join us if/when you are able.
This Wednesday, April 24th is Administrative Professionals Day. This is a day we celebrate and recognize Annette and Claudia for the amazing work they do and the undeniable impact they have on our school. If you have a moment in the morning at drop off or at pick up to pop in to say hello and thank you, it will certainly fill their buckets!
If you have not yet, please take a moment to complete the End of Year BESS survey for your child. The link is included below. This survey gives us important information about your child’s mental health and social/emotional experience at school.
This week on Thursday, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are going to the STEM Day at Coors Field. Please be sure you have returned your permission forms for them to attend! On Friday, many of our students will be performing in the Shakespeare Festival at the Denver Arts Complex with Opening Ceremonies at Skyline Park.
We hope you will join us next week on April 30th for our community SmartTalk Event. This is an informational night for families all about how to ensure your child is engaging in technology in a safe and productive way. You will learn about the types of apps to be aware of, how to set up parental controls on devices, and how to talk to your child about internet safety. We hope to see you there!

Columbine Community Inclusion Night May 20th @ 5:30
Our next Community Inclusion Session has been scheduled for Monday, May 20th from 5:30-7:30pm. This session is open to anyone to attend. You do not need to have attended any previous sessions in order to get great learning and connection out of this session! Once again we will be led by Rana Razzaque, Director of Opportunity, Access, and Inclusion for Englewood Schools alongside Dr. Ellen Miller-Brown from DU. Please come join us even if you did not attend the first sessions!
We will be in the cafeteria for this event and will be providing childcare and dinner!
Columbine’s Got TALENT!!!
Auditions
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 22nd right after school from 3:40 – 5. Students will be able to sign up for an audition slot via Ms. Steindorf in her classroom during music. Selection criteria will be shared with the flyer that will be distributed in this week’s Thursday folders.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be the following weeks on Tuesday, May 28th and Wednesday, May 29th right after school from 3:40 – 5.
Performance
We will hold two separate shows for lower grades (K-2) and upper grades (3-5) Upper grades will watch the performance first from 9-10 am followed by lower grades from 10:30 – 11:30.

Columbine School Tours
Round 2 of the Choice window is open! We will be hosting two school tours during this window. The next and last school tour will be on May 2nd at 8:15am. If you know of prospective families, please encourage them to sign up for a tour!
On April 30th at 5:45 we will host a community event featuring Smart Talk. This is an opportunity to provide our families with tools and support to create digital safety for their students! Additional resources will be available! FREE!! Dinner and childcare will be provided! More information to come!

Nuestra próxima sesión de inclusión comunitaria ha sido programada paraLunes 20 de mayo de 17:30 a 19:30 horas. Esta sesión está abierta a cualquier persona que pueda asistir. ¡No es necesario haber asistido a ninguna sesión anterior para obtener un gran aprendizaje y conexión con esta sesión! Audiciones

¡La segunda ronda de la ventana de Elección está abierta! Organizaremos dos recorridos escolares durante este período. El próximo y último recorrido escolar será el 2 de mayo a las 8:15 am. Si conoce posibles familias, ¡anímelas a inscribirse en un recorrido!
