Happy Summer Columbine Community!
Hello to all, returning and new families. I hope you have been enjoying time together as a family these past two months. I have been soaking up every minute with my family. We’ve taken to the lakes this summer and my kids got to see the ocean for the first time. It has been glorious and restful, and I’m excited to get started on the 23-24 school year. It is hard to believe August is right around the corner. The building is under a LOT of work right now with our amazing facilities team and the crews working on the AC install project and preparing the building for our students. Anyone driving by can see it is quite the busy scene!
I wanted to send some updates, some reminders, and upcoming events to mark your calendars!
Bell Time for the 23-24 school year
8:00-3:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
8:00-1:30 Thursdays
We will have a two-hour early release day once a week in the 23-24 school year on Thursdays. Leading Edge and Heart and Hand will be able to provide care starting at 1:30 on our early release days! Transportation and buses will all adjust to our new bell time in addition to our early release day.

Work Plan and Black Excellence Planning – 8/10 @ 1:00-4:00
This year, on August 10th, we are inviting families and our new staff to come in to review the work plan that was created in June. This is an opportunity to hear about the process of work planning in EL in addition to learning about our focus areas for the 23-24 school year. Work Planning is a core process in EL schools where we analyze essential data, reflect on our system strengths and areas for improvement, and write our student outcome goals for the year. Following the work planning session, from 2-4, we will be holding a session focused on our Black Excellence Plan. This is an opportunity for families to come in and contribute to the creation and goal setting within our Black Excellence Plan. It is essential we have the experiences and perspectives of our Black families and families of our Black students in these sessions. Child care and light snacks will be provided for this work session. We hope you will join us!
