Happy Friday Columbine Community,
We had such a wonderful week full of ambition and crew. Our crews engaged in learning about Native American Heritage Month, they celebrated and learned about Veteran’s Day, we had two incredible celebrations of learning, and we showed ambition through the power of yet! One more week until Fall Break!
🍂Thanksgiving Lunch🍂
We are so excited for our Columbine Community Thanksgiving Meal that will take place on November 16th from 11:00-1:00. Below is the schedule of when each grade level has their lunch block and families are welcome to join them. If you plan to join your student, please arrive at least 5 minutes early toTickets for the Thanksgiving Lunch can be purchased in the office in advance or the day of the event. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for any non-Columbine students.
Winter Is Coming
Although the weather is getting colder we will always prioritize going outside for recess when we are able. We also try to give an indoor/outdoor option for students when resources allow us to. Please be sure students are coming to school with coats/hats/gloves etc. and when the snow begins – boots are always a great gear addition!
Cocoa and Coats Event
November 18th after school the PTA will host a Cocoa and Coats event. This is a coat donation opportunity and all families are welcome to come and donate or take coats as they are needed for the winter season.

| Columbine Cougars PTA UpdatePlease click here for our full Weekly Newsletter DPS Board Public Comment: This Monday, Nov 14 at 4:30pm – The DPS Board will be listening to Public Comment in regards to the Declining Enrollment Proposition that the district has put forward. Dr. Marrero released an updated proposed unification plan on 11/10, cutting the proposed 10 schools to 5 schools considered for unification. Our PTA Advocacy Team, led by Will Lee-Ashley, met Thursday morning and created Core Themes/Talking Points. If you need a ride or would like to coordinate arrival – please email us. If you would rather watch online, virtual information can be found here.  Cocoa & Coats is back! Friday, Nov 18 from 3:15pm – 4:30pm: It’s getting cold outside and students & families are in need of winter coats, gloves, mittens and hats! The Outreach team is asking you to please bring clean & gently used coats, gloves, mittens and hats to the playground for donation to the event. ALL are welcome to pick out and take home any winter gear they may need. Remaining gear will be distributed to any in need who are unable to attend the event.
