Hello Columbine Community,
This week is volunteer appreciation week! One of the most amazing aspects of this community is the engagement, support, and love you give to our crew. From Donuts at Drop off gatherings, to classroom readers, to all the PTA committees, to the field trip chaperones, to the room hero coordination, and all of the volunteering in between, we are so so thankful to each and everyone of you for giving to our crew.
We are inviting all of our volunteers to join us in an appreciation breakfast in the cafeteria on Thursday April 18th from 7:45-8:15. We will have coffee, treats, thank you cards, and certificates for each of you. No matter what your level of volunteering has been, we want to appreciate you!
Please note our upcoming events as they go through the end of the year and include our big events such as Better World Day, Columbine Gives Day, Fun Run/Field Day, COLUMBINE TALENT SHOW (new!), and Continuations!

Columbine Community Inclusion Night
TONIGHT from 5:30-7:30, Rana Razzaque, Director of Opportunity, Access, and Inclusion for Englewood Schools will be leading us alongside Dr. Ellen Miller-Brown in the next steps of this work. Now that many of you have your IDPs (intercultural development plans) we are ready for some facilitated and individual learning opportunities. While this session will follow up on many of the components of the IDI, this session is open to and would benefit anyone who is interested in participating. Please come join us even if you did not attend the first sessions!
We will be in the cafeteria for this event and will be providing childcare and dinner!
Auditions
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 22nd right after school from 3:40 – 5. Students will be able to sign up for an audition slot via Ms. Steindorf in her classroom during music. Selection criteria will be shared with the flyer that will be distributed in this week’s Thursday folders.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be the following weeks on Tuesday, May 28th and Wednesday, May 29th right after school from 3:40 – 5.
Performance
We will hold two separate shows for lower grades (K-2) and upper grades (3-5) Upper grades will watch the performance first from 9-10 am followed by lower grades from 10:30 – 11:30.
WE CAN’T WAIT!
CMAS testing for grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th will continue this week on April 15th, 16th, and 17th , concluding with just 5th grade Science on April 22nd and 23rd. In order to support our testing students, please be sure to send your students to school on time and filled with good sleep and a full breakfast. Students can, as always, get breakfast at school as well.
Columbine School Tours
Round 2 of the Choice window is open! We will be hosting two school tours during this window. One school tour will take place this Thursday morning from 8:15-9:00. Families can sign up for a tour on our website! The second school tour will be on May 2nd at 8:15am. If you know of prospective families, please encourage them to sign up for a tour!
On April 30th at 5:45 we will host a community event featuring Smart Talk. This is an opportunity to provide our families with tools and support to create digital safety for their students! Additional resources will be available! FREE!! Dinner and childcare will be provided! More information to come!

Our current overall school attendance is 90.89%! We need to work extra hard over the next two months to be sure we reach our attendance goal of 91% for the year! This includes tardies and early pickups!

| 💙EL Team Spotlight & Wins💙 Kinder visited the Botanic Gardens in March while studying their Tree Module 1st Grade will be practicing a birding technique called a “Big Sit” at Bluff Lake next week for their Bird Module 2nd Grade visited the Butterfly Pavilion this week and will head to Lookout Mountain next week, as the start to their Pollinator Module. 3rd Grade has TWO experts coming into the classroom to guest speak during their Water Around the World Module. These speakers will represent EPA and a CEO of a global water filter non-profit.  |

Noche de inclusión comunitaria de Columbine
ESTA NOCHEde 5:30-7:30, Rana Razzaque, directora de Oportunidades, Acceso e Inclusión de las Escuelas de Englewood nos guiará junto con la Dra. Ellen Miller-Brown en los próximos pasos de este trabajo. Audiciones
Las audiciones se llevarán a cabo el martes 21 de mayo y miércoles 22 de mayo inmediatamente después de clases de 3:40 a 5. Los estudiantes podrán inscribirse para un lugar de audición a través de la Sra. Steindorf en su salón de clases durante la hora de música. Los criterios de selección se compartirán con el folleto que se distribuirá en las carpetas de los jueves de esta semana.
Ensayos
Los ensayos serán las siguientes semanas el martes 28 de mayo y miércoles 29 de mayo justo después de clases de 3:40 a 5.
Actuación
Realizaremos dos espectáculos separados para los grados inferiores (K-2) y los grados superiores (3-5). Los grados superiores verán la presentación primero de 9 a 10 am, seguidos por los grados inferiores de 10:30 a 11:30.

PRUEBAS CMAS
Pruebas CMAS para los grados 3º, 4º y 5º continuarán esta semana el 15, 16 y 17 de abril,concluyendo con solo Ciencias de 5to grado en22 y 23 de abril.Para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes que realizan las pruebas, asegúrese de enviar a sus estudiantes a la escuela.a tiempo y lleno de un buen sueño y un desayuno completo. Los estudiantes también pueden, como siempre, desayunar en la escuela.
Visitas escolares de Columbine
¡La segunda ronda de la ventana de Elección está abierta! Organizaremos dos recorridos escolares durante este período. Este jueves por la mañana se realizará un recorrido escolar de 8:15 a 9:00. ¡Las familias pueden inscribirse para un recorrido en nuestro sitio web! El segundo recorrido escolar será el 2 de mayo a las 8:15 am. Si conoce posibles familias, ¡anímelas a inscribirse en un recorrido!
El 30 de abril a las 5:45organizaremos un evento comunitario con Smart Talk. | 💙Destacados y victorias del equipo EL💙 Kinder visitó el Jardín Botánico en marzo mientras estudiaba suMódulo de árbol 1er grado practicará una técnica de observación de aves llamada “Big Sit” en Bluff Lake la próxima semana para suMódulo de aves 2do grado visitó el Pabellón de Mariposas esta semana y se dirigirá a Lookout Mountain la próxima semana, como inicio de suMódulo polinizador. 3er grado tiene DOS expertos que vienen al salón de clases para hablar como invitados durante suMódulo Agua Alrededor del Mundo.
