Happy Friday Columbine Community,
We hope you all enjoy a wonderful long weekend. As a reminder, students do not have school Monday, October 17th. Reminder, our Columbine Fall Festival is coming up next Saturday, October 22nd from 11-2pm, we hope to see you all there!!
Virtual Health Care @ Columbine!
Columbine is excited to announce that we have partnered with Denver Health Pediatrics to provide virtual care for your student. This program allows our DPS nurse to virtually connect students to Denver Health providers and School-based Health Center (SBHC) services right from their school! This new onsite care means kids can receive medication, as needed, for many health concerns, such as: colds, allergies, headaches, toothaches, cramps, and other ailments and go back to class instead of missing valuable time in school. Parents or guardians can be included in the visit virtually as well and an after visit summary will be provided. For your student to participate, there is a required consent form which can be found online or at the school. This consent form also consents your student info to any of the 19 Denver Health Pediatrics at Denver Public Schools School-based Health Centers. This service is cost free to all students. If you have questions, please feel free to email our school nurse at michelle_foster@dpsk12.net
Columbine Online Registration: https://www.denverhealth.org/services/school-based-health-centers/e-consent or you can stop by the front desk and fill out a paper consent form.
KEEP IT UP! ‘Your Voice/Tu Voz’ survey will now close on Monday, October 17th. This survey will ask you about the climate and culture of the school, focus and impact of Social Emotional Learning lessons, and how we can
improve engagement efforts as a school and district. I hope you all will engage in this survey. So far we have 41 families who have completed it which puts us at 42.7%. We hope to reach 75% by October 17th. You each have a unique link that was sent to your email from the Superintendent.
Please see the CSC Meeting Minutes Notes linked here!
Columbine will be administering the BESS Social Emotional Screener for students the week of October 17th. For more information and passive consent forms, please read this letter.
Columbine Costume Parade
On Friday, October 28th, we will hold a costume parade! We encourage all students and staff to dress up and sprinkle the end of the month with a bit of fall festivity! More details to come on our route and time.
