Lisa Henderson is the Senior Reading Center Coordinator for Reading Partners at Columbine Elementary. Lisa is a retired elementary teacher with eighteen years experience teaching and three years devoted to reading intervention. Her passion is empowering students to become proficient readers with a love for reading. The Reading Center at Columbine currently serves 38 students with a goal of enrolling 40 students total. There are currently 61 volunteer tutors who provide one-on-one guided instruction to help students gain the skills and strategies they need to read on grade level. Volunteers are carefully recruited, trained, and receive ongoing coaching. The mission of Reading Partners is to elevate literacy at Columbine Elementary and other Denver Public Schools.
