Hello Columbine Families,
I am Dawn Salter your Assistant Principal of four years at Columbine. I am a proud product of Denver Public Schools and a graduate of George Washington High School, the University of Maryland, and the University of Denver. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Education Administration and Policy. I have taught Special Education, Second Grade, and I have been a Mentor to new teachers. I am a mother of two daughters; one adult and one in high school. They are my pride and joy. This is my 17th year serving Denver students and families.
I am passionate about building strong character in our students that will boost them into high self-esteem, high achievement, and becoming tomorrow’s leaders. I work to foster a warm, collaborative partnership between parents, school staff, and students. I depend on good relationships within our community to serve the “whole child” by meeting all of their needs to be successful at school. I believe we are sharing the enormous responsibility of preparing our children for the future. I know education changes lives. Please feel free to contact me anytime by email, phone, or visit. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you.
