My name is Claire Unger, and I am excited to be joining the Columbine Elementary team as the Restorative Justice Coordinator. I believe in fostering caring, supportive relationships with everyone I work with and am looking forward to bringing my experience using restorative practices and youth centered approaches to my work with the students and staff at Columbine!
I received my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011 and my M.Ed. in Youth Development from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016. I have work in the education and non-profit sectors for the past five years, focusing on supporting students in and out of the classroom through academic, social emotional, and assets-based approaches.
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, and recently relocated to Denver from Chicago. In my free time I enjoy cooking, traveling, enhancing my yoga practice, hiking and being outdoors, and cheering on my Chicago Cubs.
