Hello Columbine Community! My name is Cecile Johnson. I am a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, and I am incredibly excited to start my 16th year in DPS as an educator at Columbine Elementary. I am originally from the country of Burkina Faso in West Africa. In addition to my native country, I lived in the Ivory Coast, France, and Peru before landing in beautiful Denver, Colorado--a great place for my husband and I to raise our four wonderful sons.
My life experiences and love of language (Spanish, French, Bambara, and, of course, English) inspired me to obtain my certification as a literacy teacher and continue to fuel my passion for reading, writing, and sharing knowledge through communication. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to serve as a literacy teacher to our primary students for an eighth consecutive year.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy tennis, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends. My devotion to learning, my desire to share knowledge, and my belief that all children can instill positive change within our world inspires my teaching each and every day. I look forward to working with your amazing children and an incredibly successful year at Columbine.
