Hello! My name is Amairani Medina and I have been at Columbine for almost 5 years now! I started working as a para for other teachers while earning my degree at UNC. I graduated in May of 2017 and this will be my second year teaching my own classroom. Last year I taught 3rd grade math, and this year I am teaching 3rd grade and 4th grade math. I have to say that I feel extremely lucky to teach a subject that I love!
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family at the park, going out to eat, or lounging around the house watching a Broncos game. When the weather is nice, I also enjoy going on a hike with the people I love. If the weather isn’t so nice, I try to write in my journal with a hot cup of tea.
In our classroom, I try to hold my students to a high level of respect and belonging. I strongly believe that a child learns best when he feels safe in his surroundings as well as challenged to his full potential. That being said, I can’t wait to watch my students grow both academically and in their character this year!
